The Gitzo Mountaineer was the world's first carbon tripod in 1994 and has now been redesigned according to the latest standards.
The legs of the new Mountaineer tripods are made of Carbon eXact. This material makes the tripod legs even more stable, as highly rigid carbon fibers are used for the thinner leg segments. The diameters of the legs have been increased, especially in the lower segments.
The redesign of the upper tripod shoulder provides additional stability.
In addition, Mountaineer G-lock Ultra offers an improved version of Gitzo's leg locking system.
It is now even easier and smoother to operate, and the ingress of sand and dust is minimized. The ground level set, which is used for ground level shooting, has been completely redesigned and can now be operated more quickly: a new release ring under the upper
support plate enables the center column to be removed quickly.
